Balance is a major part of my temporarily income challenged chapter. I am working hard to balance job hunting, networking and enjoying SoCal! Have I mentioned stopping for a cocktail at 3pm is my all-time most favorite thing to do while not working (OMG it so IS)!? (just a reminder – everything in moderation!)
I am not sure I would call today balanced per say; it was full of chaos, exhaustion, networking and pool time!
I woke up today thinking all of my Wednesday plays were scheduled today!! I got up early (well what I call early when you don’t have to be at work) and headed to my dream building meeting! I got to the gate (this event was taking place at my friend’s home in a gated community) and the guard was confused –he didn’t have my name or anyone else’s name on the list for my friend. I pulled up my calendar and I was like “hmm well today would be Tuesday huh? NOT Weds?!” he laughed and said “see ya tomorrow”! OY!
Since I was out and hungry I stopped for breakfast – I went to a local pancake place. I had delish pancakes (choc. Chip of course) and very bad service, but I was in and out so I didn’t complain. I headed home to catch up on phone calls and emails.
I called a fabulous woman I met at yesterday’s networking event (yup I network several times a week) – she specializes in HR (obvi someone I need to know right now). And she has planted a seed (that was planted several times before her) that I should consider opening my own project management consulting business. All I will say for now is it is a thought!
I then went to the pool for a couple of hours. I have a VERY uneven tan! I despise laying on my stomach to tan it is very uncomfortable for my neck so I am very tan in the front and the back well kind of pale. I am not sure I honestly care! Lol Maybe laying on the sand will be more comfy? I shall explore and let you know!
I then went out to the Chamber of Commerce Networking event! It was sooo nice to see familiar faces (because I am networking EVERYWHERE!)! I was so exhausted from my chaotic day, but I pushed through. It was a good night; I met a few new contacts and reconnected with familiar faces! I even won a raffle! I won a doggie basket full of dog toys and treats – my neighbor is very gracious that I gave his two doggies the basket (they are so sweet and I adore them!) AND this was the same neighbor (crap I forget his name <I suck with names>) who helped rescue Gateau when he got stuck on the side of the washer/dryer our first weekend here!
Tomorrow I am off to my dream building meeting FOR REAL (although I was more prepared last night than I am today but I will get there) and then I am off to get my AC in the car fixed!
Thursday, I am planning on sleeping in; I am praying the construction Gods allow this to happen! They are scheduled to begin ripping off my roof tomorrow! Something tells me my tan is going to be AMAZING very soon – front AND back!
What a day! Good night all! Here is to a much better day tomorrow!
