Have you ever had the same messages repeat in your life, in a myriad of ways? To be honest – I LOVE these types of messages! 1: sometimes I need to hear things more than once! 2: it is a sign I am on the right path!
“Warrior” is one of these messages on (constant) repeat. Of course every time I hear “Warrior” I sing the Patty Smyth 80s song in my head (I grew up in the 80s!). I was struggling with the meaning of this word – the formal definition didn’t resonate with me. So, I asked the advice of a very dear and spiritual friend and asked her what her definition of “warrior” was. “Warrior can show up as an aspect of the personality defined differently at different times. Sometimes it just means you give 100% to everything you do. Other times it means you don’t give up. Still others, it means fighting for what you believe in no matter what other people say. It can also represent bring true to yourself when you’re a Lone Ranger. I believe warrior very much resonates with who you are!!!” was her response! There were chills (and very possibly tears). “Resilience” is a word that comes to mind every time I hear warrior.
The repetition of the word really reminded me just how badass I am! I AM a warrior! I am not yet living the life I WANT to live (notice I said want not think I should live). But, I AM taking action towards it! Sometimes I take big steps and other times I take baby steps – every step I take, is a step forward! Am I perfect? No! Do I have setbacks? Yes! Some days I don’t take any steps and other days I get knocked down and fall back a few steps. I always get up and keep going! I try not to look back and focus on the road ahead. I push through the fear, I keep fighting, I allow myself to be vulnerable, and I KEEP FIGHTING! I won’t give up!
(Shooting at the walls of heartache, bang bang) I AM THE WARRIOR!
